On Saturday May 3rd Katelynne and Alexa ran their first races. Alexa ran first. She ran a 100 meters and clapped for her fellow runners the whole way. At first she didn't have much interest crossing the starting tape, but with a little motivation from "candy" she quickly took off at good pace for those little legs. She was so excited to run through the finish line (and to see the candy). Next, Katelynne ran a 1/4 mile race. The race begun with a blast of a gun. As blast of the gun went off, so did the blast of tears from our little runner. Unfortunately Mommy and Daddy forgot to warn Katelynne that they would be shooting a gun. oops! Luckly she recovered quickly and ran her hardest. As she rounded the last stretch mommy and Alexa stood on the side lines cheering. Katelynne did a wonderful job and crossed the finish line full of excitement and smiles. Both won participation medallions and special prize. Way to go Girls!!!!
